Plants slender or robust, yellowish brown, slightly glossy, in dense mats. Stems densely branched. Leaves appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist, broadly ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 1.0–1.5 mm × 0.5–0.75 mm, narrower at base, obtuse at apex; costae short, double; leaf cells elongate-rhomboidal; alar cells quadrate, few. Sporophytes not seen.
