Plants small, yellowish to brownish, in dense mats. Stems prostrate, ca. 10 mm long. Leaves erect, ovate to oblong, less than 1 mm long, concave, obtusely acuminate at apex or abruptly acuminate to shortly acuminate; leaf margins serrulate; leaf cells narrowly uniform to elongated, 20–45 mm long; alar cells quadrate, thick-walled, isodiametric. Monoicous. Perigonial leaves small, ovate; perichaetial leaves oblong-lanceolate, 1.0–1.3 mm long, acuminate, margins serrulate. Sporophytes not seen.
