Generic distribution and diversity:
Several species were described in the past, but more recently the genus has been regarded generally as monospecific. This appears to be an oversimplification of the considerable variability and clearly the genus is in need of critical revision. The only material from the project collected to date conforms to based originally on material from the 'Mollucas'.
