Generic distribution and diversity:
The genus comprises ten species with a palaeotropical distribution, mainly ranging from Southeast Asia main land throughout the Malesian region (except for Java and the Lesser Sunda Islands), North Queensland (Australia) to the west Pacific (Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji Islands).
