Root elongated, fusiform or globose. Leaves 1-3-pinnate; leaf bases sheath¬ing. Umbels lateral and terminal, polygamous. Involucre of 1 or 2 linear bracts or lacking. Rays few to many. Involucel of 5-7 linear to oval or ovate bractlets. Petals white. Fruit linear to elliptic, narrowed at the apex; ridges conspicuous; furrows 1-vittate; (vittae obscure in C. capnoides.) Inner seed face grooved.
