Perennial herbs with pubescent parts. Flowers ebracteate. Calyx 5-partite, spreading in fruit. Corolla funnel form, blue or purple-blue, with spreading lobes. Throat scales present. Stamens 5. Ovary 4-lobed. Style long and slender. Nutlets dorsally compressed, appendiculate.
