Perennial, usually tall, polygamous. Leaves compound, 2-4-pinnate; leaf base usually large, sheathing. Involucral bracts lacking or caducous. Central umbel sessile to shortly pedunculate, fertile; lateral umbels male or polygamous. Petals yellow, rarely white. Fruit strongly dorsally compressed, elliptic to oblong; lateral ridges winged; vittae few to many. Inner seed face plane.
