Description
|
Small to medium-sized trees. Leaves digitately 5-9-foliolate. Inflorescence a large terminal corymbose panicle. Flowers with the calyx small, less than 2 mm long, broadly campanulate, shortly 5-lobed; corolla yellow ventrally and orange-brown dorsally with edges of the lower 3 lobes also brownish, urceolate, bilabiate, less than 1.6 cm long, puberulous; anthers pubescent, the thecae divari- cate, less than 1 mm long, the filaments pubescent; pollen grains single, 3-colpate, the exine microreticulate; ovary linear-conical, lepidote and more or less puberu- lent, the ovules multiseriate in each locule; disc pulvinate. Fruit a linear capsule, dehiscing perpendicularly to the septum; seeds bialate, with long, sharply demar- cated, irregular-ended, hyaline-membranaceous wings.
