11. Myosoton Moench (giant chickweed)

One species, Europe, Asia, introduced in North America.

Although sometimes included in the genus Stellaria, the combination of five (sometimes six) styles and capsule valves with the valves notched at the tip is not found in other species of that genus. The chromosome number of 2n=28 is very rarely encountered in Stellaria.
