General/Distribution: A genus of 1 species, found from Arabia to Pakistan.

Small, gregarious tufted shrub, with prostrate branching rhizome, or erect branching stem up to 6 m tall. Stem unarmed, glabrous. Leaves flabellate, wedge-shaped, divided into many 2-fid segments. Hastula absent; petiole short, glabrous. Inflorescence terminal, branched; bracts many, tubular, sheathing. Flowers hermaphrodite; calyx unequally 3-lobed; corolla tripartite, lobes valvate; stamens 6; ovary trigonous, ovules 3, stigma 3-toothed. Fruit globose or ovoid berry, varying in size from 0.6-1.8 cm; edosperm homogeneous.
