General/Distribution: A genus of about 20 species, chiefly from the Mediterranean region. Most of the species are found in Europe and Asia, a few in North and South America and Australia.

Plants annual. Leaves 1-3-pinnate; segments filiform to linear. Inflorescence terminal and lateral. Involucre of a few bracts or lacking. Involucel of several entire or divided bractlets. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white. Stylopodium depressed; styles short. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petale white. Stylopodium longer than the seed; ridges distinct, obtuse; furrows 1-vittate; vittae minute or obscure. Inner seed face sulcate.
