General/Distribution: 9-10 species. Temperate Europe and Asia. Represented in Pakistan by 2 species.

Annuals with setosely or strigosely hairy parts. Calyx usually much enlarged in fruit. Corolla blue or shades of it. Throat hairy, scales absent. Nutlets ± pear shaped with a some-what incurved beak; surface tuberculate or rugose.

Similar to Lithospermum, but differing mainly in the annual habit, the calyx strongly accrescent in fruit, corolla with a hairy throat but no scales.
