Annual herbs, erect, branched, hairy with simple or branched hairs mixed with glandular hairs. Leaves entire to sinuate toothed, spathulate or linear, lower stalked, upper sessile or subsessile. Racemes ebracteate. Flowers mediocre or small, white or lilac; pedicels flexuose in fruit, glandular. Sepals erect, inner pair slightly saccate at base. Petals about twice as long as the sepals, spathulate, apex emarginate. Stamens 6; filaments often dentate-appendaged; anthers short, blunt. Lateral nectar glands in pairs, small, pyramidate; middle absent. Ovary narrowly cylindrical or linear, 20-40-ovuled; style short with depressed capitate stigma. Siliquae linear, somewhat cylindridcal, bilocular, dehiscent; valves ± torulose, 3-veined, glandular hairy; septum not veined; seeds uniseriate, oblong-ellipsoid, brown; radicle accumbent.
