Perennial herbs. Rhizome short, stout, decumbent to ascending, densely covered with scales. Leaves tufted, long-petioled, all similar, 1-3-pinnate, with somewhat scaly petiole; veins forked, free. Sori borne on veins near midrib, mostly in rows, rather large, more or less orbicular; indusium reniform, attached by inner margin of umbilicate sinus.
