T. wrightii subsp. oklahomensis Al-Shehbaz, Contr. Gray Herb. 204: 128. 1973. TYPE: United States, Oklahoma, Cimarron Co., 4 miles E of Kenton, 18 Aug 1950, G. J. Goodman & R. W. Kelting 5358 (holotype, GH!, isotypes, COLO!, NY!, RSA!, TEX!, WTU!).

Herbs, biennial, slightly glaucous. Stems (6.5–)9.5–22.5(–28) dm. Basal leaves and lower cauline ones with petiole (2–)4.5–8.5(–13.7) cm; blade lanceolate or sometimes oblanceolate in outline, pinnately lobed or lyrate, (6.5–)9.5–22.5(–28) ´ 2.8–5.5(–7.5) cm; lateral lobes oblong to linear or deltoid, entire or denticulate; middle and upper cauline leaves 3.5–8.5(–13.5) × 0.7–1.4(–2.3) cm, petiolate, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, entire or dentate, rarely lobed. Racemes strongly elongated in fruit; fruiting pedicels horizontal to divaricate, sometimes reflexed, rather slender, straight or curved, sometimes secund, (5–)7–13(–17) mm. Sepals oblong to linear, (3–)4–6(–7) ´ (0.8–)1–1.3(–1.5) mm; petals white or rarely lavender, linear or oblong, 4–7.5(–9) ´ 1–1.8(–2) mm, sometimes base clawlike and to 2 mm; filaments (3–)3.5–6.5(–8.5) mm; anthers (1–)1.5–2.5(–3) mm; ovules 76–128 per ovary. Fruits (2.5–)3.8–7.4(–9) cm ´ 1–1.2(–1.5) mm, horizontal or reflexed; gynophore 0.2–2(–5) mm; style clavate to subclavate or rarely cylindrical, (0.5–)0.8–2(–3) mm. Seeds 0.7–1.3(–1.5) ´ 0.5–0.8 mm.

Flowering: (Mar–)Jun–Oct.

Habitat: rock crevices, shady slopes, rocky hillsides, canyons, river banks, creek beds, pinyon-juniper communities, oak woodlands.

Elevation: 1200–2300 m.

Distribution: Mexico (Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Hidalgo), United States (Arizona, SE and C Colorado, New Mexico, SW Texas, S Utah).
