Crit. 1: 226. 1906; Thelypodiopsis howellii (S. Watson) O. E. Schulz, Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 66: 98. 1933. TYPE: United States, Oregon, Crook Co., Camp Polk, June 1885, Thomas Howell 343 (holotype, GH!).

Thelypodium simplex Greene, Pittonia 4: 200. 1900. TYPE: United States, California, Lassen Co., Dixey Valley, adove meadows, 6 July 1894, M. S. Baker & F. Nutting s.n. (holotype, ND-G!; isotype, UC!).

Streptanthus coombsae Eastwood, Proc. Calif. Acad. Sci. IV. 20: 145. 1931. TYPE: United States, Oregon, Klamath Co., Williamson River, Jul 1913, A. L. Coombs s.n. (holotype, CAS!; isotype, GH!).

     Basal leaves oblanceolate, lyrate or rarely dentate or entire. Petals linear to narrowly oblanceolate, rarely spatulate, 0.5–1.2(–3) mm wide; median filaments united for most of their length. Fruits 1.5–4.5(–7) cm.

Flowering: May–Jul.

Habitat: desert shrub communities, alkaline meadows and flats.

Elevation: 100–1600 m.

Distribution: United States (NE California, C and S Oregon, S Washington).
