Description
|
Plant 15-20 cm. high. Leaves about 25, densely rosulate, 10-20 cm. long, densely gray-appressed-lepidote; sheaths 2-3 cm. wide, broadly ovate; blades narrowly triangular, 10 mm. wide, involute. Scape erect, largely concealed by the leaves. Scape-bracts about equaling the internodes, ovate-elliptic, apiculate, pale-lepidote. Inflorescence digitate or pinnate, from 2 to 9 spikes, equaling or slightly exceeding the leaves. Primary bracts like the scape-bracts, extending no higher than the low- est flower of the spike. Spikes densely 12- to 22-flowered, straight, nearly erect, 3-6 cm. long, about 1 cm. wide. Floral bracts 4 mm. long, distinctly shorter than the sepals, convex, ecarinate, ovate, obtuse, sparsely pale-lepidote, even, thin. Flowers sessile, nearly erect. Sepals obovate, asymmetric, 5-6 mm. long, emarginate, sparsely lepidote. Petals 6 mm. long, yellowish white. Stamens included. Capsule slenderly cylindric, 18-20 mm. long.
