A small glabrous, 4 – 12 cm tall, herb. Leaves 3.5 – 9 x 0.8 – 1.3 cm, grey-green, deeply lobed, lobes 3-4 on each side, narrow, deltoid, runcinate, entire to minutely toothed. Scapes few to many, 3 – 10 cm long. Capitula 1.5 – 2 cm across. Involucre 12 x 7 mm, green, callose; outer phyllaries 8-12, loosely appressed, 4 – 5.5 x 1.5 – 2.5 cm, slightly scarious margined. Ligules yellow. Anthers polliniferous.Styles and stigmas yellow. Cypselas orangish-brownish, fusiform 3.5 – 4.6 mm long, weakly spinulose at apex, with gradually formed, c. 1 – 1.5 mm long cone; beak 5 – 6 mm long; pappus white, 6 – 7 mm long, scabrous.
