Shrub, c. 3.5 m tall, branches appressly pubescent when young. Leaf imparipinnately compound, 15-22.5 cm long, petiole c. 2.5-5.0 cm long; leaflets 11-17, c. 2.5-4.0 cm long, oblong, obtuse, glabrescent; stipels minute. Inflorescence a short peduncled raceme, c. 10-28 cm long. Bract c. 3.5 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, not enclosing the flower bud. Pedicel very short. Calyx c. 2.5 mm long, teeth short, deltoid. Corolla red. Vexillum c. 6.5-8.5 mm long. Fruit c. 2.5-3.8 cm long, linear, glabrous, 6-10-seeded.
