• LT: Mutis 112; 1773; Colombia LT (Staminate plant- jp-2004) [This species is endemic to Colombia. Labelled as from Mexico, hence locality error by L.f. -jp-2004].
• ST: Mutis 249; 1760-1808; Colombia ST? (pistillate, not duplicate of lectotype -jp-2004) [S. Díaz, Barnadesieae y Mutisieae, Fl. Colomb. (Monogr. JB JCM) 1:46.1993 designated US (sub Mutis 5912) as isolectotype, but this is in error. The lectotype is from a staminate plant, whereas US is from a pistillate plant, and thus of a different Mutis collection. jp-2004]
• ILT: Mutis 5912; ; Colombia ILT? (sex of plant unknown) [S. Díaz, Barnadesieae y Mutisieae, Fl. Colomb. (Monogr. JB JCM) 1:46.1993. designated Mutis 5912 at COL & MA-MUT as isolectotypes. The lectotye is from a staminate plant, and if COL & MA are as well then these may indeed be isolectotypes. jp-2004]
