Annual or biennial herb. Stem branching from the base, slender, 6-25 cm, ascending, glabrous or sparsely pubescent, sometimes glandular. Leaves 5-20 x 0.5 to subulate, glabrous, usually with out axillary leaf fascicles. Stipules scarious, triangular, not prominent. Flowers in lax racemose cymes. Pedicels very slender, 1-3 times the calyx, sparingly glandular or glabrous. Sepals 2.5-3 mm, ovate-lanceolate, glabrous or sparsely glandular, with greenish scarious margins. Capsule 2-3 mm, ovoid, as long as or slightly exceeding the sepals. Seeds 0.4-0.6 mm, dark to black, obovoid with sharp tubercules, wings absent.
