Notes:
This species is characterized by its branched low habit; elliptic, subsessile, opposite or ternate leaves; cymose and rounded-corymbiform inflorescences borne on well developed peduncles; and somewhat small blue corollas. The inflorescence is positioned well above the leaves on well developed peduncles. Declieuxia decumbens is known from very few collections. This species is similar to Declieuxia hatschbachii. In the protologue Kirkbride noted that Declieuxia decumbens is also similar to Declieuxia cacuminis, with developed stems and short peduncles.
