Locality: India, common amongst grass in the grass-heaths, especially in those of the northern part of Kamorta

Collector and Number: Kurze

Distribution: India

Note: Lectotype designated for Hedyotis kurzii Merr. by Kumar & Ranjan, Phytotaxa 630: 242, 2023: India, Kamorta, Feb 1975, Kurz s.n., K [K000031128], with a statement that the type of Hedyotis wallichii Kurz is the same as for that name. They also noted that Dutta & Deb, Rev. Hedyotis Bot. Surv. India 2004, previously lectotypified this name: Nicobar, Feb. 1875, Kurz s.n., K, and cited the collection from Kamorta as an isotype. Kumar & Ranjan rejected the earlier typification because the lectotype was not from the type region.
