Notes: This species is known from a specimen with only a few old fruits, collected in a localized area in Haiti where the native vegetation has apparently been completely eliminated. Delprete (1999) treated this as an incompletely known species that doubtfully may belong to Rustia, because some punctations are evident on the leaves and the fruits are capsular. The specimen that represents Rustia haitiensis seems more similar in aspect and fruit size to Rondeletia and related genera.
Distribution: Haiti.
