Annotation: it would seem that Linnaeus did not intend to validate a superfluous name; rather, he was effectively lectotypifying Bignonia leucoxylon L. (1753) on one of its original syntypes, viz., "Pluk. alm. 215. t. 200, f. 4" (with all of the other syntypes consigned, in this same publication, to Bignonia pentaphylla L.)
