Annotation: and Pl. Vasc. Gen. 1: 330 & 2: 242 (1841) [both parts of that work published 18-24 Jul 1841 fide TL-2]. Edgeworthia gardneri was clearly published as a new taxon (i.e., without any reference to Daphne gardneri Wall., 1820) and was probably based on the NY [herb. Meisner] duplicate of Wallich 1044 that was originally part of the Wallich herbarium at K. Some authors have incorrectly considered Meisner's name to be a combination based on Wallich's 1820 name.

Note: Meisner's reference to Wallich refers to the handwritten inscriptions on Wallich 1044 (K [herb. Wallich]) and the related entry in Wallich's handwritten Numer. Cat. (1828).
