Herbs, densely cespitose, cushion forming; caudex woody, much branched, covered with persistent petiolar remains of previous years. Basal leaves densely rosulate; petiole persistent, longer and thicker than blades; blade narrowly lanceolate to linear, 4-8 x 0.4-0.8(-1) mm, glabrous on both surfaces, margin ciliate with simple trichomes 0.2-0.4 mm, apex subacute. Fruiting pedicels 5-8 mm, thick and up to 1 mm wide, sparsely pubescent with trichomes to 0.3 mm. Sepals ovate, erect, 2-2.5 x 1.2-1.3 mm, glabrous, margin membranous; petals obovate, 2.5-3.5 x 1.2-1.5 mm; filaments 2-2.5 mm; anthers ovate, 0.5-0.6 mm. Fruit lanceolate, subterete, 3.5-5 mm (excluding style and gynophore); valves glabrous; gynophore slender, 1.2-2.5 mm, about half as wide as fruiting pedicel; style 0.4-0.7 mm. Seeds oblong, 1.2-1.4 mm, 0.7-0.8 mm; funicles filiform, ca. 1.2 mm.
Known only from the type collection above and recently re-discovered by Alfredo F. Fuentes in 2008.
