A profusely branched, low growing, downy undershrub. Leaves broadly elliptic-ovate or oval, 2-2.5 cm long, 1.5-1.8 cm broad, hairy on both sides, crenate-dentate, obtuse; petiole 7-12 mm long, stipules filiform, c. 6 mm long. Flowers axillary, solitary or in fascicles of 2-4, c. 1.5 cm across, yellow; pedicel c. 1 cm long; bracts linear, c. 6 mm long, persistent. Sepals lanceolate, c. 8 mm long, 2-3 mm broad, pubescent, acuminate, persistent. Petals obovate, smaller than sepals. Capsule ovoid or pyramidal, c. 8 mm in diameter, slightly pointed, villose.
