Description: Plants 1 500–2 000 mm high. Corm sub-globose, 35–50 mm diam.; tunics coarsely netted. Stem with 3 or more short branches. Leaves 5 or 6, lower 4 or 5 basal, upper partly sheathing stem, ± half as spike, lanceolate, 15–25 mm wide, midrib and margins moderately thickened and hyaline; bract-like cauline leaves sheathing. Spike 20 to 30-flowered; bracts herbaceous, dry and brownish apically, acuminate, 15–20 mm long, inner ± 2/3 as long, forked apically up to 2 mm. Flowers zygomorphic, pale pink with darker tube, evidently scented; perianth tube with lower part ± 15 mm long, upper part ascending or horizontal, sub-cylindric, ± 25 mm long, ± 5 mm diam. at mouth; tepals oblanceolate, 20–22 × 6–8 mm, all widely spreading. Filaments unilateral and arcuate, ± 30 mm long, well exserted from tube; anthers 10–12 mm long, yellow. Style dividing near apex of anthers, branches 5–6 mm long. Capsules and seeds unknown. Flowering time: probably November.

Distribution and ecology: a narrow endemic known only from the type collection from Rooiberg in the Kamiesberg Mtns in Northern Cape; from the northern slopes below the summit at 1 600 m, in gullies and seasonal watercourses.
Diagnosis: a tall species, 1 500–2 000 mm high, with herbaceous bracts are 15–20 mm long, and pale pink flowers, the upper part of the perianth tube ± 22 mm long and tepals 20–22 mm long. The yellow anthers are diagnostic. The capsules are unknown. Watsonia meriana, the only other species of Watsonia recorded on the Kamiesberg, has slightly longer bracts, bracts (18–)24–30 mm long, and red or purple flowers with tepals 21–26 mm long, and violet anthers.
