Comment/Acknowledgements:
This is a widespread taxon in Afghanistan known from a larger number of gatherings. In following Rechinger (l.c.) by recognizing it at specific rank, I was influenced by the relative constancy of the afghan specimens as regards leaf shape and serration. But it is very close to
Nepeta paulsenii
,
Nepeta Podostachys
and
Nepeta elliptica
.

Similar to Nepeta paulsenii in habit, inflorescence, bract, calyx and corolla characters, but with a denser villous indumentums and ovate-triangular leaves, c. 10 x 8 mm, with a serrate or subpectinate margin.
