Type : Holotype: Pakistan, Chitral, Drosh, 4500', fls. white, 3.5.1958, J.D.A. Stainton 2362 (RAW; iso. BM).
Distribution : Distribution: Known only from the type gathering.
Comment/Acknowledgements : This species comes closest to S. longisepala E. Nasir (cf. no. 18 below), but can be distinguished by its glabrous calyx, ciliate petal-claw and hairy filaments.

Perennial with a branched woody stock. Stems 23-27 cm, erect, simple, densely white pilose densely white pilose below, decreasing in density upwards. Basal leaves 30-50 x 3-4 mm, glabrous, ± pilose on margins, spathulate to linear-lanceolate, apex acute, base attenuate. Cauline leaves 20-35 x 1 mm, pubescent linear, reducing in size upwards, apex acute, base sessile. Bracts 6-7 x 0.5 mm, linear, white pubescent. Inflorescence a lax panicle. Flowers terminal, solitary. Pedicel 22-35 mm, glabrous. Calyx 28-29 mm, cylindrical gradually tapering below, glabrous; calyx teeth c. 2 mm, ovate, obtuse, with a hyaline densely ciliate margin; veins faintly visible. Petals white; limb 10-11 mm, deeply divided into oblong lobes; claw auriculate, base ciliate. Coronal scales oblong. Carpophore 11-12 mm, pubescent. Filaments hairy.
