Type: Holotype: Pakistan, Hazara Dist., Kaghan Valley, 20 miles from Gulnar Farm on way to Babusar, 40 cm tall. flowers pinkish, S. Abedin & M. Qaiser 9101
Comment/Acknowledgements: This variety was first recognised by Hu l.c. as Malva verticillata var. chinensis (Mill.) Hu. She based this variety on Malva chinensis Mill. But Malva chinensis Mill., as confirmed by the study of type specimen, matches with Malva verticillata L. var. verticillata. The present variety differs from Malva verticillata var. verticillata by having comparatively thin stem, small leaves, loosely arranged few flowers in the axil and distinct fruiting pedicels.

It is recorded for the first time from Pakistan.
