Forst and Banksia pilosa J.R. Forst. & G. Forst. Burrows (2009) ineffectively designated all three specimens affixed to BM000829813 as the lectotype of Banksia tomentosa and cited Rogers' lectotype (BM000829812) as a "paralectotype."
