Type-Protologue
Locality: Native of South America. Raised from seed brought from Vera Cruz about three years ago to Alexander Johnston, gardener to Mrs. Hatch, Clayberry Hall, Essex; but whether gathered in the neighbourhood of the town, or in the interior of the country, cannot at present be ascertained.
