Description
|
Perennial from weak short rhizomes; culms 4-15 cm. long, slender; leaves long, 3-6 mm. wide; bracts very long and leaf-like; inflorescence simple, the rays mostly 10-20 cm. long; spikelets 1-3 at the end of each ray, 1-2 cm. long, 15- to 40-flowered, strongly compressed, pale; scales viscid, the apex acuminate and in- curved;-stamen 1; achene obovoid, truncate, obtusely trigonous, 1 mm. long, dull brown, with a whitened waxy covering, densely papillose.
