Description
|
Forming dense clumps 30-60 cm. high; leaves 2-7 mm. wide; culms bearing a single spike, 8-15 cm. long; utricles lanceolate; style 3-cleft; bristle more than twice as long as the utricle.

Distribution
|
Southern Mexico and West Indies to southern Brazil and northern Argentina.
