Description
|
Glabrous annual; culms slender, 1-4 dm. high; leaves often exceeding the culms, 1-3 mm. wide; corymbs spreading, the long-pedicelled spikelets relatively few, 7-10 mm. long, dark brown; achenes suborbicular, yellow-brown, 1.5 mm. long, transversely rugose, the two flattened lateral lobes of the style-base decurrent on the apex of the achene; bristles none.

|
Wet savannas, chiefly at low altitudes. Further distribution: Mexico, Hon- duras, Cuba.
