North American Bryophytes of Conservation Concern

The aim of this project is to provide an overview of the North American bryophytes of conservation concern.

This site also serves as a repository for all published and unpublished data related to the conservation assessments of these threatened bryophyte taxa. Several endangered North American species are listed, but additional species will be added continuously.

Species profiles include descrptions; notes about substrate, ecology and distribution; notes about morpholoigically similar taxa; locations of published illustrations and photograhps; lists of all known and vierified specimens; and associated references. The most recent NatureServe conservation assessment is also given.
