The aim of this project is to provide an overview of the North American bryophytes of conservation concern.
This site also serves as a repository for all published and unpublished data related to the conservation assessments of these threatened bryophyte taxa. Several endangered North American taxa are listed, but additional taxa will be added continuously.
Taxon profiles include descriptions; notes about substrate, ecology and distribution; notes about morphologically similar taxa; locations of published illustrations and photograhps; lists of all known and verified specimens; and associated references. The most recent NatureServe conservation assessment is also given.
