Collector and Number: Lectotype (designated by Beentje & Callmander, 2014: 324): São Tomé, 1885, Quintas or Moller (COI [COI00005915 excluding staminate flowers]).

Note: Henriques (1887: 207) cited two collections as types : Quintas s.n. [Quintas 113] and Moller s.n. There is confusion about which of these two collections represents a pistillate and a staminate plant as both were collected in 1885. This uncertainty about who collected the staminate or pistillate collection and the COI type material is a mixed collection (see Figueiredo & Smith 2019: 91, 93). The lectotype designated by Beentje & Callmander (2014: 324) at COI can either be a Quintas or a Moller collection.
