Biennial or perennial herbs, often shrubby with woody base, 25-40 (-60) cm tall, branched from the base, appressedly canescent with bipartite, whitish hairs. Basal leaves rosulate, 3-5 (-6) cm long, 3-5 (-8) mm broad, often runcinate-dentate, 3-4-lobulate, stalked,; cauline leaves usually slightly smaller, sinuate-toothed to entire; uppermost leaves linear and sessile. Racemes 30-40-flowered, up to 25 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 5 mm across, yellow; pedicels up to 3 (-4) mm long in fruit, not thickened, ascending or suberect. Sepals 3-4 (-5) mm long, Petals 7-8 mm long 1.5-2 mm broad. Stamens c. 4: 5.5 mm long; anthers c. 2 mm long. Siliquae (12-) 15-25 (-30) mm long, 1 mm broad, linear-terete, erect, appressedly hairy; style c. 1 (-1.5) mm long, slightly thickened, with capitate, sub-bibbed stigma; seeds 8-12 in each locule, c. 1.8 mm long, oblong.
