Maire, Fl. Afr. N. 1: 32 (1952). Type: Lebanon: in regione inferiore prope Brummana, 700-800m. VII. 1897, J. Bornmüller 1764 (K).

Habitat : Maquis at the base of trees, mainly in north-facing slopes. Upper Galilee, Hula Plain, Gilead, Golan, [Mt. Hermon]. Rare.
Area distribution : Mediterranean, Euro-Siberian and Irano-Turanian.
Notes : Grown as ornamental plant.

Lower pinnae pinnatisect, short- petioled. Leaves and indusium almost glabrous, not glandular or scarcely so. March- September.
