Shrub c. 1 m in height. Stem erect, solid, angular, pubescent; branches dark reddish brown. Buds 2.5-4.0 mm long, pointed with 2 valvate scales; scale of leaf buds twice longer, glabrous, young branchlets glabrous. Leaves simple, alternate; petiole 2-4 mm; lamina narrow elliptical, 15-22 x 4-8 mm, leaf base oblique, margin entire, apex obtuse; surface slightly hairy; brownish green adaxially, light green abaxially; veins 2-3 pairs, obscure adaxially, very prominent abaxially. Inflorescence corymb, 10-15 x 12-22 mm; peduncle 5-12 mm. Flowers creamy white, 6-7 mm in diameter, bisexual, perigynous; hypanthium 3-4 mm long, tomentose inside; pedicel 4-5 mm, smooth; bracteole 0.5-1 mm long, glabrous. Sepals 5, gamosepalous, sepal lobes free, triangular ovate 1.5-2 x 1.5-2 mm, tomentose on both sides or only outside. Petals 5, polypetalous, rose like, with or without notch, lobes equal or unequal; c. 3 x c. 3 mm. Stamens numerous, usually 20-25, free; filament 2-3 mm long, anther ± 1 mm in diameter. Carpels 5, free, 3-5 mm long; ovary 1.25-2.5 mm long, sparsely pubescent, style abaxial in position, a slight bent inward near the stigma, ± 1.5 mm long, style is shorter than the ovary in case of unripe fruit, stigma broad, funnel shaped, 0.1-0.3 mm long, 0.3-0.6 mm wide; tomentose all along the body. Fruit follicle, ± 5 mm long with or without rudiments of style, tomentose all along the body.
