Hierbas erectas, 0.2–0.6 m de alto; tallos jóvenes subteretes, pubérulo-glandulares. Hojas angosta a ampliamente ovadas, 1–4 cm de largo y 1–3 cm de ancho, ápice obtuso a agudo, base redondeada, márgenes enteros, pubérulo-glandulares, cistolitos más visibles en la haz; pecíolos 1–2.5 cm de largo, pubérulo-glandulares. Espigas axilares numerosas, 1–3 cm de largo, abrazadas por brácteas foliáceas, brácteas florales elípticas, 7–12 mm de largo y 1–6 mm de ancho, apiculadas, 3–5-nervias, pubérulo-glandulares; sépalos 5, subulados, 3–4 mm de largo, pubérulo-glandulares; corola 11–15 mm de largo, blanca o blanco-crema. Frutos 4–6 mm de largo, glabros.

Rara, en matorrales secos o laderas rocosas arbustivas, Estelí; 650–800 m; fl y fr dic, ene; Stevens 11250, 18891; sur de México a Nicaragua.
