Agapanthus orientalis F.M. Leighton, J. S. African Bot. 5: 57 (1939). Holotipo: Sudáfrica, Pillans 7198 (BOL).

Agapanthus africanus auct., non (L.) Hoffsgg., A. umbellatus auct., non L'Hér.

Hojas 10-38 x 0.8-3 cm. Escapo 25-70 cm. Umbela con numerosas flores; pedicelos 1.5-7 cm. Perianto 2.5-4 cm, azul intenso, raramente blanco. Ornamental cultivada (quizá también naturalizada). H (Clare 24, MO); CR (Torres 369, F). 900-1500 m. (Sudáfrica; ampliamente cultivada en otras partes.)
