  • HT: G.H. von Langsdorff s.n.; 1829; Brazil: in umbrosis arenosis rivi Parana There is only one sheet in the TRINIUS herbarium, it bears the the "Poa umbrosa m." in Trinius's script. The holotype has spikelets with proximal perfect and staminate distal flowers with long anthers, the lemmas glabrous, the callus is glabrous or has a 1 to 3 long hairs (to 1.5 mm and slightly sinuous) on the rachilla side of the lemma, not the dorsal side
