Perennial herbs, ca 40 cm tall with long white thick tomentum and shortly stellate, glandulose hairs. Lower leaves sessile, upper petiolate, oblong or ovate, 0.75–4.5 cm long, 0.3–1.5 (–2) cm wide, acute–subacute, irregularly dentate, white tomentose. Capitula 1.0–1.5 (–1.7) cm across. Phyllaries ca 5–seriate, narrowly elliptic, outer ones 3–3.5 mm long, greenish, white tomentose ± glandular at margins, acute–acuminate; middle and inner ones 4–6 mm long, with hyaline scarious margins, glandular and apically stiff hairy. Ray florets 30–35, pink, ligule 3–3.5 mm long, 0.5–0.6 (–0.8) mm wide. Disc florets yellow, tubular, 3.5–4.0 (–6) mm long limb 2.5–3.5 mm long. Cypselas angular, white silky hairy, 2–2.5 mm long. Pappus bristles many, silvery white, 3–4 mm long.
