Shrub 1-1.5 m, erect, solid, terete; main branch dark brown to dark reddish brown, side branch light reddish brown, glabrous. Leaves mostly solitary or in cluster; simple, alternate; petiole 0.5-4 mm, tomentose, 9-30 x 2-15 mm, ovate, elliptic, lanceolate, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, base, cuneate or slightly oblique; margin dentate-serrate, entire – slightly wavy or undulate, apex obtuse-rounded, acute or mucronate; upper surface mostly smooth, lower surface slightly tomentose; colour green adaxially, light green abaxially. Inflorescence umbel, peduncle 0-4 mm long. Flowers white, bisexual, 3-7 mm in diameter, pedicel 4-10 mm, ebracteolate; hypanthium 2.5-5 mm long, companulate. Sepals gamosepalous, lobes 5; triangular ovate, 1-2 x c. 1.0 mm, ovate oblong, tips acute, glabrous or minutely pubescent. Petals polypetalous, 5, white, rounded or more or less orbicular c. 2 x 2.5 mm, notch present or absent. Stamens numerous, usually 16-30, free, filament 1-3 mm long; anther 0.5-1 mm in diameter. Carpels 5, free, 2-5 mm long; ovary 1-4 mm, glabrous at inner surface; style sub-terminal or abaxial, mostly bent inward, 1.5-2 mm long; stigma broad funnel shaped, 0.1-0.6 mm long, 0.2-0.4 mm wide. Fruit follicle, tomentose or glabrous, hairy along lower ventral suture.
