Notes:
Occurs in Madagascar (including Juan de Nova Island) mainly in the south-west, but with scattered records in the west, north and Horombe Plateau, and also in the Seychelles (Albadra Island). The African
S. australis
has been regarded as a mere variety of the Malagasy species, and species limits generally appear in need of clarification in the genus.
