Notes: Peddiea involucrata is a widespread species with continuous morphological variation in characters such as peduncle length, pedicel length, number of flowers per inflorescence, and floral tube length. The observed pattern of morphological variation does not correlate with differences in geographic distribution or elevation. Specimens collected from the same general locality (e.g. Manongarivo, Andringitra, Midongy du Sud) show the entire range of variation in the aforementioned characters (Z. S. Rogers, 29 July 2010).
