Notes:
A single species in the Neotropics, Pinnatella minuta (Mitt.) Broth.. The genus is readily distinguished by the small stature of the plants, obtuse to broadly acute-rounded ovate-short ligulate leaves, unipapillose, rounded upper laminal cells. Sporophytes unknown for the Neotropics, according to Enroth only female plants are present in the Neotropics; reproduction is likely asexual via flagellate branches.
